Sorry. Maybe some of you liked her... but the moment McCain picked her, I knew the GOP didn't have a chance in 2008... and that made me happy...

...and this makes me happy.

I feel great relief to know she's not going to be anywhere near the hallowed halls of power. She scared me absolutely spit-less.

Kris...I don't mean to rain on the parade, but it's being said that she's quitting in order to get ready to run for POTUS in 2012. She's got a book deal in the works, and now she'll be free to travel the country.

Then again, with Sanford's fall, Jindahl's gaffes, Craig's embarrassment, Gingrich's tired pronouncements, and now Palin quitting...well, for the Republicans, their leadership theme song seems to be "Another One Bites the Dust"! :-)

I don't think she has a snowball's chance in Hades of garnering enough support to be a front-runner in 2012 and even if she is that popular among Republicans, she still doesn't have enough support in the country at large to win...

I think her fifteen minutes of fame are over and she just hasn't figured it out yet. She would have to get so much smarter between now and then, in so many ways, to be a force that could take on Obama or her GOP compatriots. I just don't see that happening.

She has (or had) the support of the Republican base, and frankly with Sanford/Jindahl/Craig/Gingrich and Ensign (he went the route of Sanford) seemingly not viable, all the Republicans probably have left are Romney and Huckabee. Of course, she'll need a cross section of the population to win.

I wouldn't put it past her to try, even if she doesn't get very far. Fortunately, it's 3 years until 2012.

For now, buh bye Sarah! (Hee!)
