From SOJOURNERS--

We’ve seen a new movement rise up in the United States during the past few weeks. People are gathering all over to challenge the direction our nation is going.

Occupy Wall Street protesters are giving voice to millions of Americans who are fed up with a rigged economic system and a political process that does not hear their concerns or reflect their values.

The protesters have started a national conversation about our country’s priorities and values, one that many of us have been having for months: a conversation about jobs, budgets, wars, and corporate greed.

We will see images and hear things from Occupy Wall Street demonstrators -- likely some that will offend us and some that will inspire. We’ll hear demands that we agree with and some that we don’t.

But we should all learn from them: It is time to speak up and change the direction of our nation.

•Write Congress and tell them enough is enough.
•Send a letter to your local paper explaining your ideas for a moral economy.

When you’re done,  find ways to support the protests in your community and across the country: Donate some food, send messages of moral support, and most importantly, pray for God’s will to be done.
