Huge Favor to Ask You...

Trek/Kelley fans... I have a huge favor to ask you. My absolute deadline for newest book, THE ENDURING LEGACY OF DeFOREST KELLEY: ACTOR, HEALER, FRIEND, is March 5, 2009, because I want it out before the tenth anniversary of De's passing and the year Karl Urban succeeds De as "the reel McCoy." I want each of you who loved De to write a short letter to some people -- your favorite TREK actor, director, producer, writer, author, best friend, Trek-brained relatives -- and remind them that they have an opportunity to submit a short essay about their memories of De to me (as actor, healer, friend, co-worker, mentor, what-have-you) so that it will be immortalized in the book.

This new book is designed to be a keepsake treasure for newer fans, and to older fans who never had the chance to meet De "up close and personal." I have already received almost two dozen submissions and every time I read them, I am certain this book is going to do what I've promised it will: It'll resurrect all the great memories and the great love and devotion we have for De, which he gladly returned each time we found ourselves in his midst.

I can't make this happen by myself. It will take the combined efforts of people like you who realize how important the mission of this book is.
